Transition pathways and visions
Storytelling has always been a central element in political debates and policy. A story addressing the challenges of today, and at the same time providing direction and vision about a desirable future, can serve to legitimate action and decision making. Over the past decade, transition pathways have been increasingly produced in the realms of public policy and business as a means to envisage alternative development trajectories. Such pathways build on visions of sustainable futures and describe ideas about the way forward.
Narrating Climate Futures look particularly at how and why pathways and visions are produced and used by different stakeholders, how they interact with story and narrative, as well as their potential in providing means for mitigating and/or adapting to climate change.
